What to do when a card is unverified

TL;DR: Confirm the verifier; check the content; review the details tab to decide if the card should be archived or verified. If the card is evergreen, extend the verification interval; if outdated, archive it. Check for recent views, comments, or follows.

When a card is unverified:

  1. Confirm the verifier:
    • If the human is incorrect, reassign it to the expert in your respective collection

    • If you’re unsure who should verify the card, use card commenting to communicate with the author, expert or new verifier to get alignment

  2. Check the content of the card: If the verifier is correct (and it's you!) - review the content. Is everything in this card still up to date and accurate?
  3. Check out the verification interval. If the knowledge on the card is evergreen and doesn't change often (i.e. your gma's fav lentil soup recipe) you can adjust the interval to a more lengthy interval (this will automatically verify the card)

How do I decide if the card needs to be verified vs. archived?

  • Check the details tab

  • Consider: Is this card still relevant? For example, if it's an FAQ on a feature that no longer exists, you can archive it. Archiving a card will not delete it
  • Check how many views the Card had in the last 90 days or since the Card was last verified. If it has no views, comments, or follows, you can archive it.
